Today Marks the 20th Anniversary of the tragic death of The Notorious B.I.G.
The Notorious B.I.G. was one of the most prolific emcees in the history of Hip Hop. His death along with the death of Tupac Shakur would forever change coarse and climate of modern rap music.
Biggie Smalls, as he was orginally called, before changing his name to The Notorious B.I.G. to distinguish himself from a white rapper who was also going by the same name. His birth name was Christopher Wallace and he was just 24 years old when he was murdered on March 9th 1997.
The still unsolved murder has still gripped the hip hop community for the last 20 years and fans both new and old have never forgotten his legacy. The Notorious B.I.G. was murdered by a still yet unidentified gunman just two months away from his 25th birthday and just six months after the fatal shooting of fellow rapper Tupac Shakur. The rapper was shot four times in his car while driving back to his Los Angeles hotel after attending a Vibe Magazine party at the Petersen Automotive Museum.
Speculation surrounding the murder, is thought to be over a financial distpute between him and a local LA gang but there has never been any evidence to prove it.
There has been on movie created about his life and death called Notorious with a documentary called "One More Chance", a TV drama called "Unsolved" and another movie about both murders starring Johnny Depp called "Labyrinth".
